Thank you for joining us on our journey! We will be releasing updates as they progress. Until then, safe travels.
I'm Brent Lang and co-founder of Oberland Vans.
Oberland is German for highlands. My father was born in the Bavarian Oberland just south of Munich, which is quite beautiful. So the name is not just a coincidence — it's where part of my heritage is from.
Before this adventure began, I co-founded Storyteller Overland and served as VP of Research and Design, helping shape several generations and types of adventure vehicles. Eventually, I joined Remote Vans as Chief Innovation Officer, where I designed the complete Vanhalla exterior portfolio. Both companies — and the people in them — gave me lessons I carry with me every single day, and I'm grateful for every chapter.
In this sense, Oberland is the new series.
I began Oberland with my co-founder, Taylor Karchawer, who was instrumental in producing products for both of those companies. We initiated this new movement because we believe the recreational vehicle world deserves a different kind of company — not just one built on honest engineering, thoughtful design, and complete modularity, but one that empowers people seeking adventure to build their dreams. Our modular interior systems are designed to deploy anywhere in the country, install in any of the three major North American van platforms and put the build in the owner's hands.
“Explore Different” isn't a tagline we picked because it is catchy. It's the principle the whole company is built on. Different needs. Different ways to ownership. Different backgrounds. Different ideas about what a finished van can be, who should be allowed to build one, and how transparent the people behind it ought to be.
Thanks for being here. The road ahead is long and we would love for you to join us, however you can.
As always, safe travels.
